Communicating research to support the evolution of teaching

Future Conference

What makes teenagers tick? Why does their behaviour seem to be erratic at times? How can we help them maximise their potential? What does the research on the adolescent brain tell us?

Building on the success of FutureEd™ 2017, this summit will again bring together leading experts, teachers, schools leaders, researchers and practitioners to explore ways in which we can help our young people maximise their potential.

The summit includes presentations from leading experts in their fields, together with facilitated, round-table discussions tackling key issues affecting young people and education today.

Speakers include:

Geoff Barton, General Secretary, ASCL

Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, UCL Institute ofCognitive Neuroscience

Dr Kou Murayama, Department of Psychology, Universityof Reading.

Dr Martina Lecky, Headteacher, Ruislip High School

Professor Sophie Scott, UCL Institute of CognitiveNeuroscience

What delegates said about FutureED™ 2017:
Overall, the entire event was not only informative from the neuroscience point of view but also a good chance to discuss how current research can influence practice in the future.
Something useful in all of the sessions. Loads of ideas to take back to school and try. Great discussions with the colleagues on my table.
All of it. Has been a very engaging day.
